A Utah awards event unlike any other From the very beginning, Kirton & McConkie set out to create an awards event that would stand out from others in the state. They wanted to reward individuals who would not normally be recognized in any other way—quiet, unsung heroes who deserve recognition. |
Casual enjoyment for the entire family To create this unique event, Kirton & McConkie abandoned the traditional ballroom setting and took the event outside, with tables and picnic blankets on a warm summer evening. Children are encouraged to attend, to run and play, and no ties are allowed! |
Live entertainment A live band kicks off the evening's entertainment, and the music continues until the award program begins, so guests can enjoy live music while they eat, talk and play. Nothing livens up an awards program like a good band. |
Free food for everyone Kirton & McConkie also set out to create a program accessible to all in the community, so the food is free! Four or five separate vendors provide, pizza, pasta, sandwiches, BBQ, sodas, Italian ice and even Brazilian hot dogs, and there's plenty of food for second helpings. |
Cotton candy & popcorn To further add to the family-friendly celebration, free popcorn and cotton candy are provided for the young and the young at heart. Families enjoy the fun atmosphere of a carnival or a circus without the animals or the scary rides! |
Balloon clown for the kids The balloon clown is a favorite for kids as he twist balloons into shapes such as animals and other various toys. This gives parents an opportunity to relax, enjoy their food, and have a chance to chat and unwind before the presentation. |

Inspirational awards program Few events are as inspiring as the video presentation created by Bonneville Communications and hosted by Doug Wright of KSL. There's something heart-warming about stories of the "little guys" who quietly make the world a better place. This uplifting program concludes the evening. |
