Zions Bank, Utah's oldest financial institution, uses Community magazine in a way that best shows how we, at Lumin Publishing, feel you can use a magazine to build greater brand loyalty. For the past 12 years, Zions Bank has published a lifestyle magazine that focuses on local food, travel, and entertainment, along with some financial and legal advice. Initially created as a value-added retention tool offered to the bank's top account holders and business clients, Community magazine also features local up-and-coming businesses, local non-profits, and people who are building communities.

Zions Bank President and CEO, Scott Anderson, has put his fingerprints all over the magazine to build relationships with a variety of partners, clients and customers. We, at Lumin, have always considered this a "soft sell" approach to building brand loyalty and expanding a client customer base. Offering a message through a magazine article often legitimizes that message in a way that advertising can’t.  Zions Bank Community Magazine recently expanded to include an iPad edition in order to provide reach beyond the 50,000+ copies they currently print and mail to their top account holders and business clients.
